Angel Has Fallen
Ok, yes, hi, I know I havn't posted on here for a while but that's because there hasn't been any movies I've wanted to see. However Angel has fallen, the 3rd movie in the has fallen franchise, was released and I finally saw it in cinemas.
Ok, so as said, this is the 3rd movie in the series. It follows the story of Mike Banning, played by Gerald Butler, who is an agent in the secret service. He's been along side the President when Olympus fell and London falling. Throughout them movies we also have the character Allan Trumbull, Morgan Freeman, who played as acting president whilst being speaker of the house in olympus has fallen, vice president in London has fallen, and now president in angel has fallen. Like Olympus has fallen, the name "angel" is as code name and it's for the secret service. The movie starts with a, what seems to be a training/simulation like scenario with people. After that we see a few characters. Of course there's Mike, then we see the owner of the facility: Wade Jennings who is a friend of Mike. We also see another soldier, complaining that Mike pushed him down the stairs. This character is important for later. At home, we see Mike suffering, taking pills and medication, suffering from pain and insomnia. Minutes later in the movie, the president goes on a fishing trip a long side protection, including Mike Banning. But then, the assassination attempt begins. In the forest nearby the fishing location, are drones being toggled and fired into the air, killing all targets by face recognition. We then see the drones go for Mike, but then they retreat, making him live. Mike tries to save the president, who jumped into the water when his boat got attacked. Both ended up in hospital with the president in a coma, meaning vice president Martin Kirby taking over. FBI tracks the van that held the drones and finds Mike's DNA over it. This with that fact that he was the only survivor, leads the fbi with the assumption that Mike was behind all this. He then get's charged with attempting to assassinate the president and the murder of the fellow killed people. Banning is then escorted somewhere, being chained. Throughout the journey, they are interfered by the people behind the attack. Banning takes them out and makes a run for it. Then we see a whole lot of chasing and car chasing until Banning heads to the woods to find a small wooden cabin, belonging to his father, who left him at a young age. Jenning's men surround the place. Clay, Banning's father, detonates explosives that surround the area, killing every one of them. They accumulate all the bodies on stack them on the porch with a message carved into the wall. The FBI visit the cabin and one of them now starts to suspect that Banning is being framed. The 2 FBI agents realise Jennings has something to do with this, and when visiting, they both get shot in the head, leaving them dead. Trumbull starts to wake up from his coma, meanwhile, Banning is breaking into his hospital to prove he's innocent. He gets captured and is taken to the president where he orders Mike to be released. After seeing gas filling the hospital because of rising oxygen and nitrogen levels, they realise the place is going to explode and evacuates the building. Jenning's men arrives and has a long shoot out with the good guys. Later, Jenning's tries to escape on a helicopter but Banning stops him, having a 1 on 1 fight, with Banning as the victor. Knowing that vice president, kirby, was behind all this, he is arrested for treason and Mike offers his resignation after feeling guilty for his failure to protect the president. Trumbull forgives him and offers the promotion of direction of the secret service in which he accepts. Clay moves in with Mike, his wife and his daughter (yep, Mike now has a daughter).

So, the has fallen series has seen a lot of bad reviews but a lot of good ones as well. For this series to continue, they can't repeat something. So they've done a landmark, they've done a city, and now they've done a group of people. However, Angel has fallen is different because there's hardly much terrorist action going on, just Mike running from the Police. And it was executed well. Angel has fallen is a good movie, just like the other 2, but there's a problem. It's too predictable. We saw a guy at the beginning complaining about Banning, BOOM, BAD GUY. Of course the vice president was part of it, his actions just made us knew. This movie does conduct a really good story line though and therefore makes it better than London has fallen. However, it doesn't fulfil the emotions in the first movie.
Characters
Mike Banning is an amazing character and whom we have seen develop throughout the franchise. However, now, we start to see him fall: thinking of resigning, taking medication etc. But he doesn't disappoint. Gerald Butler puts on an amazing performance to show the character who he is.
Allan Trumbull. We all saw it coming, who wouldn't want Morgan Freeman to be president. Even though he'w now got a more important role, he still puts on the same performance and we can see the characters chemistry grow throughout the movies and see a special bond like with the previous president.
Clay. This is the comedian of the film. This old man is independent, cocky and funny. This is what made the audience chuckle a few times throughout the movie.
